Elgin, IL – September 7, 2013: In an effort to expand manufacturing awareness and promote workforce growth in the city of Elgin, Fabric Images® teamed up with the Elgin Area Chamber for a 9 day event promoting manufacturing and manufacturing education. The event, Manufacturer Your Future, placed focus on students and community members in an effort to aide with viable career paths.

The event was presented in partnership with Gail Borden Public Library, Elgin Area Chamber, School District U-46, Elgin Community College, Bison Gear and Engineering, Hoffer Plastics, Fabric Images, and Winergy. Additional support came from Bystronic, Otto Engineering, Custom Aluminum, American NTN Bearing, and Engineered Components. The event offered special sessions including high school student panel presentations, interactive manufacturing booths, manufacturer site visits and parent and community member panel presentations.

For Fabric Images this event was part of a continuous effort to promote education and the benefits of careers in manufacturing. Manufacture Your Future allowed students to visit the Fabric Images facility for a glimpse into the modern era of manufacturing, seeing firsthand the people and operations behind the organizations’ success. Students were also given the opportunity to speak with Fabric Images representatives during events held at the Gail Borden Public Library.

For several years, Fabric Images has been closely involved with local school districts, offering students the opportunity to visit the facility and learn about the link between education and the workforce. Earlier this year, Fabric Images was recognized with an ACT Workplace Success Award in correlation with the ACT College and Career Readiness Campaign for their efforts in education and career readiness. According to Marco Alvarez, President & CEO of Fabric Images, “We feel that by taking the time to educate students on the importance of education, and showing real life examples of success in the workplace, we can make an impact on the choices students will make to better their futures.”
