Bringing life to a new space
Our corporate client sought to convert an unused, underground space into a dynamic and engaging corporate training center. However, with an absence of windows and natural light, the client questioned whether this environment could become the inspiring collaborative space they envisioned for their team.

Upon visiting the site, we were captivated by their expansive corporate campus, which featured a large pond and fountain, a community garden, and a long walking path that connected multiple buildings. We saw an immediate opportunity to utilize the beautiful views of their campus within this new space.

Creative problem solving
We proposed an innovative approach using Blazeā„¢, our Illuminated Wall System, that pairs its perimeter-lit frame with high-quality SEG printed fabric. Blaze offers the opportunity to transform a space with large-scale, backlit artwork, and could not have found a better use case than this.

Inspired by our client’s campus, we suggested bringing that same visual into the basement space, creating a simulated window view of their corporate landscape, which translated to a 176’ lightbox that curved with the shape of the building and included one continuous panoramic photograph.

Our team took the measurements and began production of this custom lightbox. We sourced a photographer and worked with them to create a seamless composite image of the campus that would replicate a real window view. The lightbox spanned 176’ and extended 9.5’ from floor to ceiling with fabric that stretched edge to edge, hiding the frame and mounting hardware, creating a realistic window view.

A biophilic experience
Introducing outside imagery and ambient light can help simulate natural environments, which have psychological effects, improving comfort, productivity, and overall well-being. For an underground environment like this, the glowing landscape created a sense of openness, a connection to the outdoors, and a renewed sense of pride for the campus itself.
